NOVA University Lisbon is the 15th best in Europe and is among the 50 best universities in the world under 50 years old according to QS Top 50 under 50 rankings released on 21 June, evaluating criteria such as reputation and internationalization.
For the sixth consecutive year, NOVA is the only Portuguese university ranked in this exclusive ranking of the 50 best young universities in the world.
NOVA is also in the top 10 of young universities in Europe in the five areas of knowledge evaluated by QS:
- Arts & Humanities (4th position);
- Engineering & Technology: (10th position);
- Life Sciences & Medicine (6th position);
- Natural Sciences (7th position);
- Social Sciences & Management (7th position);

According to João Amaro de Matos, Vice-Rector of NOVA, the results “reveal the quality of our teaching and acknowledge our commitment to internationalization. In addition, they also contribute to elevate the Portuguese university system “.
