NOVA National School of Public Health (NOVA NSPH) hosted the first Symposium of three Scientific Commissions of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), comprising the Scientific Commission on the Effectiveness of Occupational Health Services, the Scientific Commission on Environmental and Occupational Dermatoses, and the Scientific Commission on Work and Radiation.
“Effectiveness of skin cancer prevention in workers exposed to solar ultraviolet radiation”, was the theme of the Symposium that took place on February 6, in a hybrid format, with 13 international members from Italy, Norway and the Netherlands, to discuss radiation risks, the development of skin lesions, modeling skin cancer data and environmental and personal radiation data.
Researcher Marília Silva Paulo and Professor Susana Viegas from NOVA NSPH were responsible for organizing this initiative, which is an international reference at the highest level, and represents recognition of the national and international training and research that the School carries out in the field of occupational health.
The event included the participation of Lisbon City Council and the Portuguese Society of Occupational Medicine and was attended by 200 participants of various nationalities.
