The NOVA Nacional School of Public Health (NOVA NSPH) and the Executive Direction of the National Health Service presented today, February 28, 2024, the joint project “Implementação, desenvolvimento e monitorização das ULS”.
NOVA NSPH will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the Local Health Units, effective from January 2024, with the aim of supporting the process of transforming the organization of health services taking into account the needs of users.
Running until November 2025, the project includes an analysis of the international context of care integration experiences, presented by Rui Santana, Professor at ENSP NOVA, in the project presentation session, as well as the completion of a diagnostic study of the Local Health Units, to be concluded by the end of the first quarter of the year.
In addition to NOVA NSPH, the project involves the participation of the General Directorate of Health, the Central Administration of the Health System, the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health, the Portuguese Association for Integration of Care, and the European Observatory of Health Systems.
Participation in this initiative represents recognition of the technical and scientific skills of NOVA NSPH in the implementation and evaluation of health interventions and policies, aimed at improving systems and the health and well-being of populations.
