The CHRC – Comprehensive Health Research Centre and NOVA NSPH are promoting the seminar “Behavioral Economics for Chronic Disease Prevention” on May 24, 2024, between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. (Lisbon time), at ENSP NOVA’s Coriolano Ferreira Auditorium.
This presentation will address how individuals are expected to make decisions, according to the classical economic model and the role of governments. It will discuss some rationality flaws – time-invariant preferences, loss aversion and selective biases – and end with a discussion of interventions that can overcome these biases to improve the health of populations.
The seminar will be led by Eric Finkelstein, Professor of Health Services and Systems Research at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore, and Executive Director of the Lien Center for Palliative Care.
The session takes place in a hybrid format. Participation is free, but registration is required: https://formsonline.ensp.unl.pt/webform/behav_econ__chronic_disease_prev
