Occupational health in Angola has been strengthened with the creation of the new Angolan Society of Labour Medicine. In total, the country has 70 doctors specialized in this area, 50 of whom were trained by the NOVA National School of Public Health of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA NSPH), in partnership with the Sagrada Esperança Clinic in Luanda.
“The creation of the Angolan Society of Labour Medicine is an example that honours us and is the result of the investment that NOVA NSPH has made in training highly differentiated staff in the area of occupational health, both in Portugal and abroad, particularly in the context of cooperation with the Community of Portuguese Language Countries,” says the director of NOVA NSPH, Sónia Dias.
“Promoting safer and healthier working environments is a goal that we should all be committed to, central to Public Health, and in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in particular the Sustainable Development Goals”, emphasises the director of NOVA NSPH.
