The Master Course in Occupational Health aims the acquisition of advanced scientific knowledge and skills to the study, research and intervention in the field of Occupational Health (specializations in Occupational and Health Medicine, Hygiene and Occupational Safety).

The general objectives are to develop the capacity to identify new issues, select, plan and implement practical and/or research strategies, aiming at the continuous improvement of the employees’ work-health relationship at the workplace.

Students should be able to:

  • Analyze issues related to workers' health at the workplace within the broader framework of Occupational Health;
  • To enable individual or integrated intervention in multidisciplinary teams, in order to foster practices aimed at improving Occupational Health;
  • Promote the ability of lifelong systematic learning and research to reinforce a better exercise of professional and scientific skills in the.

The 1st Master Course in Occupational Health (2018-2020) accepts candidates for Specializations in Occupational Health and Medicine, Hygiene and Occupational Safety (see curricular plan).

APPLICATION:

The application is submitted online, by completing the application form, which

includes a biographical questionnaire and motivation and professional project of the candidate, attaching documentation proving the degree or equivalent and other curricular elements that the candidate deems relevant.

 

REQUIREMENTS

The Specialization in Hygiene and Occupational Safety is targeted to graduates in health-related areas (among others, Nursing, Environmental Health Technicians, graduates in Environment, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Ergonomics).

The Specialization in Occupational Medicine is exclusively targeted to doctors (graduates in Medicine Pre-Bologna or with integrated master's degree in Medicine).

Proficiency in Portuguese and English

 

SELECTION:

Candidates are selected through the curricular analysis and can be submitted to an elimination test (individual interview) by a jury created for this purpose.

 

Each module requires a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25.
