Coordinator's Message

 

This Postgraduate course is in its 64th edition this year and was designed to consolidate fundamental principals in Occupational Medicine.

 

The aim, essentially, is to enable professionals to intervene, whether individually or as part of multi- and transdisciplinary teams, in professional factors and health determinants, based on practices that promote Occupational Health and Safety.

 

It is with pleasure that we take part in contributing to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in this scientific area, helping Occupational Doctors achieve excellence.

 

General overview

This Postgraduate Course in Occupational Medicine allows you to develop knowledge and skills to participate in the definition of global strategies for protecting and promoting workers' health, as well as maintaining their ability to work; promote technological innovation and organizational change, managing risk factors for workers’ health; plan, execute and evaluate medical surveillance actions and programs; and also know the labor legislation regarding the Health, Hygiene and Safety of Workers in Workplaces and the ethical and deontological standards for exercising the profession of occupational physician.

 

Who is intended for

This Course is intended exclusively for graduates in Medicine, or holders of an integrated master's degree in Medicine, who attend, at the Occupational Medicine medical internship, the training program in the specialization area of ​​Occupational Medicine.

 

All graduates in Medicine (or holders of an integrated master's degree in Medicine) who, while not participating in the Occupational Medicine medical internship, wish to acquire scientific knowledge and skills in the field of Occupational Health, must apply for the Master's in Occupational Health.

 

Accreditations

This Course is approved by Ordem dos Médicos in the training plan for doctors doing the occupational medicine medical internship.

Conditions for Applying

  • Degree in Medicine (graduates in Medicine pre-Bologna or with an integrated Master's degree in Medicine) who attend, at the Occupational Medicine medical internship, the training program in the specialization area of ​​Occupational Medicine
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English
