GENERAL INFORMATION
The main objective of the Clinical Codification Course is to train physicians in the basic and fundamental rules of clinical codification according to ICD-10-CM/PCS.
It is a joint initiative of the Administração Central do Sistema de Saúde (ACSS) and the National School of Public Health - New University of Lisbon (ENSP-NOVA), coordinated by both institutions, and enables the exercise of hospital clinical codification activity.
OBJECTIVES
- To know the nature and structure of the classification system ICD-10- CM/PCS
- Framing the importance of medical records in the clinical codification process
- Apply the basic and fundamental rules of clinical codification according to ICD-10-CM/PCS
- Recognize the potential of hospital morbidity database
WHO CAN APPLY
The Course of Clinical Codification is exclusively aimed to medical graduates, with computer user skills.
COORDINATION
The Coordination of the Course is jointly assured between ENSP-NOVA and ACSS, respectively by Prof. Sílvia Lopes and by Dr. Teresa Matias.
SUPPORTING MATERIAL OF THE COURSE
Students will receive the training support manuals. Each student must have access to their own computing resources (portable or tablet) to be used during the course sessions.

13th Edition: 7th to 11th and 21st to 25th May [Postponement of the Course scheduled to March]
14th Edition: 2nd to 6th and 16th to 20th April
15th Edition: 4th to 8th and 18th to 22nd April
The sessions of the Clinical Codification Course take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (lunch break between 12:40 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., one morning and one afternoon break).
The course takes place in the following locations: 11º (ARS Norte), 12º (ENSP), 13º (ARS Centro), 14º (ENSP) e 15º (ENSP) .

NOTICE:
The vacancies for the 15th Edition of the Clinical Codification Course are already filled.

PAYMENT EFFECTIVENESS
Deadline: proof of payment of the course fees should be sent to the ENSP until 11.05, as indicated below. The fees for Clinical Codification Course are €1315 [registration (€15) and tuition fees already included].
Payment proof: Exclusively online through the payment effective form (see information in the automatic email sent after registration).
REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
After the fees’ payment, the registrations are subject to validation by the ENSP, within 5 days, and the results communicated by email.
Registrations that are not validated due to missing elements are automatically eliminated.
The evaluation consists of an individual assessment test - 100%. During the interim week, an interim online evaluation will be performed.
It is mandatory to attend at least 90% of the sessions.
