Patrícia Marques is an Assistant Professor at NOVA National School of Public Health. Her research focuses on health services management and organisation. Her areas of interest include healthcare financing, integrated care, and health economic evaluation. In recent years, she was based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where she conducted research in ophthalmology and eye health, particularly in the use of economic evaluation for decision-making and the measurement of health outcomes. Her most recent work includes a systematic review of utility values used in cost-effectiveness analyses of ophthalmology interventions.
Patrícia Marques has worked as a researcher and lecturer at both the NOVA National School of Public Health and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She was a Commissioner on the Lancet Global Health Commission on Global Eye Health and was a member of the technical committee of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness responsible for developing an “Investment Case for Eye Health”. She has coordinated and contributed to several national and international projects, including randomised controlled trials in the field of ophthalmology.
She holds a PhD in Public Health,area of specialisation in Policy, Management and Health Administration, a postgraduate qualification in Hospital Administration and Business Management, and a degree in Business Management.
