The CNN Portugal Summit | +Prevention Forum will take place on 8 October 2026 at the Auditorium of the Rectorate of NOVA University Lisbon, bringing together policymakers, regulators, academics and civil society representatives to discuss the role of prevention as a public health priority and a strategic factor in economic sustainability.

The initiative, promoted by the NOVA Center for Global Health at NOVA IMS and the NOVA National School of Public Health, with the support of GSK, includes the presentation of the results of the +Prevention study, developed in partnership by the two institutions. The project aims to strengthen prevention as a priority in health policies through an evidence-based approach, including the development of the European Health Prevention Index and an analysis of expenditure on prevention in Portugal.

The Director of NOVA NSPH, Sónia Dias, will participate in the programme at two points: in a session dedicated to the implementation and impact of prevention policies, where she will address what remains to be done in this area, and in the closing session of the event.

The +Prevention Forum aims to foster reflection and dialogue on prevention as a strategic investment in health, sustainability and the country’s future.
