Innovation in public health today requires a strong alliance between science, technology, and implementation capacity. It is in this context that the NOVA National School of Public Health (NOVA NSPH) and Glintt Global have formalised a strategic collaboration protocol, creating a structured bridge between academic knowledge and applied technological development.
This partnership emerges with the ambition of accelerating the digital transformation of health systems through the integration of scientific knowledge and advanced technological capacity, promoting solutions grounded in scientific evidence and strengthening the ability to respond to increasingly complex challenges, from financial sustainability to care integration, from prevention to the intelligent use of data.
More than an institutional agreement, this partnership represents a commitment to the digital transformation of public health, fostering a structured link between academia and the business sector and enhancing the creation of innovative products, services, and models aimed at efficiency, sustainability, and resilience within health systems. With the protocol now signed, NOVA NSPH strengthens its collaboration with strategic technological partners to accelerate innovation in the sector.
The partnership envisages collaboration across several areas of impact. In the field of education and applied training, it includes internships, projects, mentoring, the development of practical cases, and other pedagogical activities that bring students closer to the reality of the sector. On the scientific and technological front, it covers joint research, participation in pilot projects and experimental activities, as well as the collaborative development of digital products, services, and solutions, combining the scientific and technical capacity of NOVA NSPH with Glintt Global’s technological, digital, and data science expertise, particularly in the areas of interoperability and the development of digital health solutions.
The partnership also extends to the promotion of lifelong learning initiatives and professional capacity-building, the transfer and valorisation of the knowledge produced, as well as the submission of joint applications for national and international funding. It is a clear commitment to responsible innovation, oriented towards efficiency, sustainability, and the resilience of health systems.

This collaboration also aligns with two major structural initiatives currently being developed by NOVA NSPH. On the one hand, the Technological Interface Centre in Public Health (CITSP), funded by the Lisbon Regional Programme 2021–2027 (LISBOA2030) through FEDER, which represents a strategic investment in the region’s competitiveness, innovation, and internationalisation. The CITSP’s mission is to strengthen the translation of scientific knowledge into society, promoting the development of innovative solutions, the incubation of start-ups, engagement with the business sector, and the creation of social and economic value through Research, Development, and Innovation.
On the other hand, the Centre for Simulation in Public Health and Health Management is part of the SAPIEN – South and Atlantic Pedagogical Innovation & Excellence Network project, funded by the PRR under the “Impulso Mais Digital” initiative. This project reinforces pedagogical innovation by creating digital and active learning environments based on the simulation of real-world scenarios and aligned with global health challenges and the digital transition. Involving nine higher education institutions and around 60,000 students, SAPIEN positions NOVA NSPH as a reference in the modernisation and excellence of public health education.
