The INTERCAMBIO project addresses the rapidly changing work environments in Europe, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, which has accelerated various trends impacting workers’ mental and physical health. The project recognizes the profound effects of climate change on work practices and the importance of sustainable development, as highlighted by the European Green Deal.
With a focus on promoting workers’ well-being amid these transformations, INTERCAMBIO will explore key research questions regarding health in green jobs and new working practices. The project will evaluate interventions in strategic sectors, including outdoor construction, healthcare, public transit, renewable energy, and waste management, using multidisciplinary research methods.
By leveraging large longitudinal cohort studies and engaging diverse stakeholders, INTERCAMBIO aims to provide significant scientific and societal insights, ultimately supporting new policies in occupational health that ensure social protection and decent working condition.
