LANDMARKS

Creation of the National School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, under a dual dependence of the Ministries of the Overseas and Health and Care.

Visit Decree-Law nº 47102, 16th July 1966

Creation of the National School of Public Health (ENSP), intended to replace, along with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the extinct National School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In this context, ENSP acquires from the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA) the status of education sector supervised by the Ministry of Health and Care.

Autonomy of the National School of Public Health, which abandons the teaching sector of INSA.
