Her degree is in Mathematics / Statistical Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade NOVA de Lisbon (1995).
Her areas of academic interest are Statistics and Epidemiology, in particular spatio-temporal epidemiology, in various areas of Public Health, currently focusing on Tuberculosis, Environmental Health and Mental Health.
