Full Professor of Statistics, Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the PhD Program in Public Health and Member of the Public Health Research Center (CISP) and the Comprehensive Health Research Center.

Aggregate in Public Health, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (2012), PhD in Spatio-temporal Stochastic Processes (2003) and Master in Geo-resourses, by the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon (2003 and 1998). Her degree is in Mathematics / Statistical Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade NOVA de Lisbon (1995).

Her areas of academic interest are Statistics and Epidemiology, in particular spatio-temporal epidemiology, in various areas of Public Health, currently focusing on Tuberculosis, Environmental Health and Mental Health.

She coordinate (ed) / participate (ed)  in projects in the Road Safety and in Environmental Health, working with private companies and local authorities.

In 2014/2015 she was a visiting researcher at the Center for Health Informatics, Computing, and Statistics (CHICAS), Lancaster University, UK, with which she has partnerships.

Collaborates with the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, in projects and doctoral supervision in the area of Tuberculosis and spatio-temporal epidemiology.
