Full Professor of Public Health and President of the Scientific Council at NOVA National School of Public Health.

Vice-President of the National Health Council.

Member of the Committee for the National Strategy of Nutrition of the first 1000 days of life.

Member of the expert panels of the National Health Plans 2004-2010 e 2011-2020.

Diretor of the Department of Health Promotion &m Prevention of the Non Communicable Diseases at the National Institute of between 2008 and 2010.

Invited researcher at em Columbia University- Teachers College (NY, USA),in 2009

National Coordinator of the Portuguese Network of Health Promoting Schools and of the Health Promotion & Education at the Ministry of Education between 1997 and 2002.

Member of the National Committee of the Baby Friendly Initiative, since 1994.

Mainly dedicated to Health Promotion during the beginning of life, intersectorial work, primary health care, schools and municipalities.
