    Maria Diniz da Costa joined the Environmental Department at NOVA NSPH in 2024 and is working in European projects related to the health impact of metabolism disruptor chemicals and health promotion in climate change related occupational settings. Her research background is on basic biology applied to the reproductive field. Currently, Dr. Maria Diniz da Costa is also involved in reproductive health research at NOVA NSPH, with emphasis on women’s health projects.

    Maria Diniz da Costa holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Warwick (UK), where she studied the relationship between uterine stem cells and recurrent miscarriage. She is a biologist with a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology (University of Porto). Dr. Maria Diniz da Costa worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University (North Carolina, USA), focusing on Maternal-Fetal Medicine research. She is finishing her second Master’s degree in Public Health at NOVA NSPH.
