    Pedro Laires is a Invited Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and a member of the Public Health Research Centre. At ENSP NOVA he coordinates the Short Course in Outcomes Research and is a speaker at the Epidemiology Seminar of the Doctorate in Public Health. His topics of interest focus on the impact of multimorbidity on early retirement, Drug Effectiveness Studies (pharmacoepidemiology) and Epidemiological Studies, including the EpiReumaPt project.

    Between 2017 and 2020, she was Head of Health Economics & Outcomes Research at Novartis, in the area of Neurology, contributing to the development of strategies and activities in this area. Previously, at Merck, she held management positions in the Outcomes Research area, being responsible for the strategy and activities of Health Economics & Outcomes Research in Portugal. Throughout his career, he has also held academic positions, teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and conducting research at the Gulbenkian Institute of Science and the University of Cambridge.

    He is currently involved in various Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) projects. He holds the position of Global Director of Epidemiology (Real-World Evidence) at Novartis, thus contributing to the research and development of real-world evidence in the field of epidemiology.

    PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HE&OR) from the University of Lisbon.
