Maria de Fátima Castanheira Cortês Damásio Geada is the President of the Board of the IIA Portugal and a member of the Global Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors, as well as a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Ordem de Economistas and its Professional Committee. She is also Deputy Director-General for Maintenance and Engineering at TAP, Audit Director of the TAP Group, and a member of various Supervisory Boards, either as Chair or Member.
She is a university professor, teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, and master’s levels in the fields of Economics, Management, and Auditing. She is a member of the Strategic Council of ISCAC, collaborates with IDEFE and the Universidade Católica, and coordinates the MBA Atlântico at Universidade Autónoma.
Born in Lisbon, she graduated in Economics from the Instituto Superior de Economia at the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, followed by a Master’s degree in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management, and then pursued a PhD in Economics at the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. Her thesis focused on a highly relevant topic: “O Processo de Transição para o Euro – O Caso Português”. She is certified by the Institute of Internal Auditors in CRMA (Risk Management and Assurance).
