Cochrane is an international non-profit network that promotes the use of high-quality evidence to improve decision-making in healthcare and, consequently, enhance care delivery outcomes. One of its objectives is to produce reliable evidence, synthesized in the form of systematic reviews.

These can be accessed in the Cochrane Library.

Cochrane Portugal represents Cochrane International at the national level. Part of its mission is to promote the conduct and dissemination of systematic reviews. Various strategies are used to disseminate Cochrane evidence, including translating systematic reviews and their summaries into Portuguese, publishing evidence summaries in national journals – the “Cochrane Corners” – and a Newsletter (which can be subscribed to here).

Since 2021, the National School of Public Health has been an Affiliated Centre of Cochrane Portugal.
