    The existence of a Postgraduate Program in Communication in Health is essential in an increasingly interconnected world filled with information.

    In a sector where clarity and accuracy of communication can save lives, this program plays a vital role in training professionals capable of translating technical and scientific knowledge for diverse audiences, positively influencing public health decisions and individual behaviors.

    By combining in-depth health knowledge with effective communication strategies, the Postgraduate Program empowers students to combat misinformation, strengthen health campaigns, promote healthy behaviors, and bridge the gap between specialists and society.

    The learning objectives aim to deepen students’ knowledge and develop competencies related to the principles and best practices in health communication, ensuring strategic planning and evidence-based approaches.

    In particular:

    • Develop effective health communication strategies and messages for different target audiences, contributing to changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, thus improving health and well-being;
    • Foster positive interactions between professionals, patients, and communities, overcoming linguistic, cultural, and social barriers to improve the quality of care and empower the public to make informed and collaborative decisions about their health;
    • Enhance communication during public health emergencies and crises to coordinate efforts, clarify information, and mobilize the population;
    • Advocate for public health policies and community engagement through participatory and inclusive approaches;
    • Maximize the advantages of digital communication in the health sector and address misinformation and infodemics.

    The target audience of this Postgraduate Program includes all professionals who use or will use communication as a tool for health prevention, management, and promotion of health and well-being in various contexts, including:

    COURSE SYLLABUS

     

    The Postgraduate Program in Health Communication combines theoretical and practical classes, webinars with national and international experts, and student-led seminars, organized into seven thematic modules (see below).
    It also includes four practical workshops that develop specific skills such as graphic design, the use of data visualization tools, the creation of clear and engaging narratives, and the implementation of effective strategies for communication with the media and the general public.
    Throughout the program, students will receive guidance in developing a health communication project for a real-world context/case, with the final work presented at a concluding seminar before a panel of relevant entities in the field of health communication.
    There is a possibility for students’ developed content to be featured in media outlets.
