Cláudia Furtado is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the National School of Public Health.
Her experience and research focus on the area of medicines, aspects related to medicines policy, health technology assessment and the financing of medicines, and the monitoring of their use and effectiveness. She also works on the analysis of equity in healthcare provision and financing, with a particular focus on the area of medicines.
Cláudia Furtado is Director of Infarmed’s Information and Strategic Planning Department and of the Health Technology Assessment Department at INFARMED – Autoridade Nacional do Medicamento e Produtos de Saúde, I.P. She is INFARMED’s representative on several European networks, namely the HTA Coordination Group, National Competent Authorities for Pricing and Reimbursement, WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Policies and the International Horizon Scanning Initiative. She is on the advisory board of the DARWIN EU project and the Steering Board of the RWE4Decisions consortium.
She has a PhD in Public Health from the National School of Public Health, a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the National School of Public Health and a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon.
