Federico Lega, Ph.D., is a full professor of Economics, Policy and Health Management at the University of Milan, where he coordinates the Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Health Administration (HEAD) and the Health and Life Sciences Area of the School of Management (MISOM). At the SDA Bocconi School of Management, he directed the MIHMEP and MiMS master’s programmes in health management and coordinated the executive education segment for the health sector. A member of the Board and former president of the European Health Management Association (EHMA), he is editor-in-chief of the SAGE journal Health Services Management Research, a consultant to the World Health Organisation, and currently is or has been an adjunct/visiting professor at several international universities (INSEAD, UAB-USA, GMU-United Arab Emirates, Stellenbosch, Innsbruck, Birmingham, and Córdoba). He provides management training, research, and consulting services to institutions, healthcare organisations, and pharmaceutical, biomedical, and other healthcare companies, focusing on strategy, governance, organisational development, change management, people and performance management, and operational management. He has served as scientific director of several regional training courses in the management of healthcare organisations and their complex structures. He is the author of more than twenty books and over one hundred scientific publications.
