Visiting Assistant Professor at NOVA NSPH. His main areas of interest and specialization are health policies and systems, management of health organization and services, health financing, economic evaluation in health.
He was Secretary of State for Health in the XXIII Constitutional Government. He was also Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Project Manager at the Public Finance Council (CFP), Member of the Board of Directors of the Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS), Director of the Department for the Management and Financing of Health Benefits at the ACSS and Director of the Contractualization Department of the Alentejo Regional Health Administration.
He has a specialization in Hospital Administration, a post-graduate degree in Health Services Administration and a degree in Economics from ISEG.
