Teresa Magalhães is an Invited Assistant Professor at the NOVA National School of Public Health and coordinates the Hospital Administration, Digital Health, and Artificial Intelligence in Health programs. Her research focuses on health promotion and digital transformation as an alternative to improving the efficiency of health systems. Recently, she has developed education in Digital Health by creating internationally recognized courses within the EIT Health RIS Academy network of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology. Her main research areas include digital health, telehealth, telemedicine; predictive models, particularly in cardiology; health information systems; and efficiency models.
Teresa Magalhães served as President of the Executive Board of the Portuguese Red Cross Hospital and as a Board Member of the Setúbal Hospital Center (CHS). She was also an advisor to the President of the Board of Directors of the Lisbon North Hospital Center (CHLN) in the area of innovation and information technologies. Additionally, she worked as a hospital administrator for the Heart and Vascular Department and the Pediatrics Department at CHLN, as well as for the Production Management Service at CHS. She also held the position of Senior Consultant at Accenture.
Teresa Magalhães holds a PhD in Public Health, specializing in Health Policy, Management, and Administration, from NOVA University Lisbon. She has a specialization in Hospital Administration from the NOVA National School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in Management Informatics from ISLA (1995).
