PARC – Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemichals

PARC – Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemichals

PARC is an EU-wide research and innovation partnership program focused on enhancing chemical risk assessment and management across EU and national bodies. Its goal is to provide essential data, knowledge, methods, networks, and skills to tackle current and emerging chemical safety challenges, aligning with the Green Deal’s zero-pollution ambition and the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.

The program seeks to establish a hub of excellence in risk assessment by focusing on three key objectives: creating a sustainable cross-disciplinary network to identify and prioritize research needs, conducting joint EU research activities to address regulatory requirements, and strengthening existing capacities to improve chemical risk assessment processes.

The partnership includes ministries, public health agencies, research organizations, and academic institutions from nearly all EU Member States, along with representatives from EU Directorates-General and agencies involved in chemical monitoring. PARC aims to equip these bodies to better anticipate emerging risks and respond to the challenges of new European policies.
