    The Clinical Coding Course (CCC) aims to train physicians in the basic and fundamental rules of clinical coding according to the ICD-10-CM/PCS standards.

    This course is a joint initiative of the Administração Central do Sistema de Saúde (ACSS) and NOVA NSPH, coordinated by both institutions, and qualifies participants to perform clinical hospital coding activities.

     

    OBJECTIVES

     

    • Understand the purpose and structure of the ICD-10-CM/PCS classification system;
    • Frame the importance of medical records in the clinical coding process;
    • Apply the basic and fundamental rules of clinical coding according to ICD-10-CM/PCS;
    • Recognize the potential of the hospital morbidity database.

     

    IDEAL STUDENT

     

    The Clinical Coding Course is exclusively intended for graduates in Medicine, with user-level computer skills.
