Andreia Leite is a Visiting Assistant Professor at NOVA NSPH in the field of Epidemiology and Statistics. Her research focuses on various aspects of infectious disease epidemiology, including vaccine safety, delays in tuberculosis diagnosis, and more recently, the epidemiology of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In addition to her research, she provides methodological support to various projects, including Horizon-funded projects, with a strong interest in quasi-experimental design. She is also actively involved in teaching master’s and doctoral students, delivering courses on epidemiology and research methods.
Beyond her academic role, Andreia Leite is a Public Health Physician at the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge, a member of the Technical Vaccination Committee, and a researcher at the Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC).
She holds a PhD in Vaccine Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a Master’s in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and in Biostatistics from the Faculty of Sciences (both from the University of Lisbon), and a Master’s in Public Health from Umeå University, Sweden.
