Marília Silva Paulo is a Researcher at the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at NOVA NSPH. Her academic journey began with a focus on Health Services Research and Health Workforce Development, eventually transitioning into Environmental and Occupational Health, particularly in international contexts. Marília Paulo has a special interest in systematic reviews and meta-analyses related to environmental and occupational health exposures, areas in which she has developed significant expertise. Nationally, her research has included studies on solar ultraviolet radiation exposure among outdoor workers in Lisbon.
At an international level, she actively contributes to various committees and research networks, including the Climate Change and Public Health Research Network under the Ministry of Environment of the United Arab Emirates, and the OMEGA Network (Coordination and Harmonisation of European Occupational Cohorts, COST Action 16216). Marília Paulo is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University.
Her academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Public Health, specializing in Health Promotion (2012), from NOVA NSPH, and a PhD in Health Policies and Development from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal.
