Marília Silva Paulo is a Researcher in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at NOVA NSPH. Her academic background began with a focus on health services research and health workforce development, later transitioning to the field of Environmental and Occupational Health, particularly in international contexts. Marília Paulo has a special interest in systematic reviews and meta-analyses related to environmental and occupational exposures, areas she has been actively developing. At the national level, her research has included studies on solar ultraviolet radiation exposure among outdoor workers in Lisbon.
At the international level, she contributes actively to various research committees and networks, including the Climate Change and Public Health Research Network of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the OMEGA Network (Coordination and Harmonisation of European Occupational Cohorts, COST Action 16216). She is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University.
Her academic qualifications include a Master’s in Public Health, with a specialisation in Health Promotion, from NOVA NSPH, and a PhD in Health Policy and Development from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA University Lisbon.
