MYBACK – Effectiveness and implementation of a personalized self-management program to prevent recurrences and disability and promote musculoskeletal health in patients with low back pain. PTDC/SAU-SER/7406/2020

The “MyBack” project aims to compare the effectiveness of a personalized self-management program for the prevention of recurrences and usual care, relative to usual care alone, in individuals with low back pain who seek primary healthcare. It also seeks to evaluate the acceptability, feasibility, and outcomes of an implementation strategy designed to facilitate its adoption among patients and healthcare professionals, through a hybrid type I study, combining effectiveness and implementation. This study will be randomized, controlled, and multicenter. The study is designed for a 3-year timeline and is aligned with sustainable development goals, particularly the goal to strengthen countries’ capacity for early warning, risk reduction, and management of national and global health risks.
